Spot-fixing trial: Judge says all will be jailed

LONDON: Pakistan cricketers Salman Butt, Mohammad Aamer and Mohammad Asif and agent Mazhar Majeed will all be jailed for their parts in fixing parts of a Test match against England, a judge said Thursday.

"These offences, regardless of pleas, are so serious that only a sentence of imprisonment will suffice," Judge Jeremy Cooke told the four at London's Southwark Crown Court.

Mazhar Majeed has been awarded the punishment of 2 years and 8 months in jail. Salman Butt has been jailed for 30 months.Mohammed Asif has been sentenced for 1 year.
